The Hatter Cafe

The Hatter Cafe in a word is “perfection.” We were looking for a Sunday Brunch place while we were up in the mountains touring around. The whole place is adorned, inside and out, with every flourish imaginable to evoke the whimsical spirit of Alice & Wonderland… and boy did we feel like we were in Wonderland!

They gave us crowns to enjoy our breakfast and high tea, then let us tour the Bed & Breakfast when we finished. The staff was so kind and downright cheery! And the food was brunchy with a Southern twist - just as billed.

I ended up enjoying our unexpected experience so much, I booked a stay with my husband at the bed & breakfast.

We stayed at The Hatter for a quick weekend getaway for our anniversary and had such a great time! The owners were absolutely amazing, the food was fantastic, and the Mentone Dreams suite was so nice and cozy. There was a private deck and hot tub with a beautiful view of the back yard, a cozy little sitting room with a TV and electric fireplace, and an amazing breakfast equipped with specialty coffee each morning! The details in the restaurant were just perfect. I’ve always loved Alice in Wonderland, and they’ve created the perfect Wonderland themed place to dine and stay. They were also pet friendly, so we were able to bring our dog along with us on our trip. He loved exploring the grounds and cuddling up by the fire. 10/10 would recommend staying here, we will definitely be back!

P.S., get the hash brown casserole, it’s absolutely amazing!

Absolutely amazing and unique little place. We were seated fast, ordered and had our food in a timely manner. The chef comes out and speaks to everyone, very personable. Literally moved to the top of my list as far as best experience.

While on vacation my husband found this place and surprised me with breakfast. Boy! Does he know me well! This place was amazing. I couldn't get over all of the Alice-themed decor. Everything was so eclectic and hodge-podged. I have an empty room that I was trying to decide what to do with and this place gave me so many awesome ideas!
The breakfast was absolutely wonderful! I had the Southern Herb Breakfast Casserole and hubby had the Blueberry Waffles. The atmosphere was great! The servers were very attentive. The walls were full of items for sale, and I went home with some trinkets from there as well.
We will be coming back.

Great experience! Everything was perfect! The food and tea were amazing! The owner definitely loves what she does! Cannot say anything negative about this place! Will be coming back.

My fiancé Courtney and I spent this past weekend at the Inn. The hospitality was incredible. The owner, Roger was great. Paige and Melissa at the Cafe were absolutely fantastic. The detailed decorations in the cafe and the royal suite where we stayed were incredible. It was a perfect weekend, made even better by the great staff. We will definitely be making a trip back soon.

What can I say about this Unique, Eclectic place that is a must to stop at anytime you are close. We were staying nearby and decided to pull in on a whim to experience this “Wonderland”. The meatloaf pie was an interesting take on meatloaf but was absolutely a win! The BLT on a biscuit was something I would have never thought of but will do so in the future. The staff was friendly, helpful and very attentive and very quick to meet your requests.
As we ate you could hear all the laughs and conversation taking place in this older home converted to a restaurant and you couldn’t help but to think of these walls could talk about everything they have heard over the years, what would they say? To me that just fits in perfectly with Alice in Wonderland. Put the Hatter Cafe on your must do list.

Oh my, simply magical! So unique and well thought out. Food is as exciting and creative as the decor! Delicious! One of my favorite places! Also have two rooms for B&B rental.

10 out of 10! Beautiful decorations, great food, welcoming staff. The owner gets around checking on guests which is nice. Great family owned restaurant! There is also a good selection of season & Alice themed gifts to bring home.

Such an amazing and unique place to eat. We absolutely loved the vibe inside and the food was top notch as well. This is a place you gotta go to if you're close. We had breakfast and it was fantastic.
