Black Cow Cafe

I had two scoops of their house made French vanilla and it did not disappoint. Another person in my party had the Belgian Chocolate ice cream and it had a nice deep dark chocolate flavor that’s very smooth. This place is also known for their pies and we took two slices of apple crumb back to our hotel and once warmed up this was such an amazing after dinner/day after treat. The crumb topping was crunchy and full of flavor that paired well with the cinnamon and apples. Their pie crust is delicious. Although it’s located in a sort of touristy area of Sedona this place is worth the venture into town in an of itself!

Caution when eating those hotdogs! They’re unique being in a baguette and delicious but when you get to the bottom be prepared for condiments to explode all over your sweater. I’ve got a nice mustard stain souvenir.
Had I been prepared I could have avoided the mustard mishap, but the hot dog was delicious and I got some great coffee.

Perfect weather for ice cream! You can immediately smell the rich creaminess upon entry.

You’re able to sample taste test. I ended up with a small cup which included two ice cream scoops and you’re allowed to mix and match. I got peppermint and espresso coffee. They gave a lid since I asked for to-go. Took home for 20 minute drive and it melted. Stuck it back in the freezer and it stayed separated. Perfect way to end the night.

Well at first we were a little hesitant to try this place, because of some of the reviews on the customer service. The staff was courteous and helpful toward us. We ordered the ice cream and it is creamy and does taste homemade. We also ordered an oreo milkshake and my son love it. The trashcan and tables could use a good wipe down, as they were sticky.

They have 8 flavors and they offered samples to try. I tried the Oreo and it didn’t have much of an Oreo taste so I stuck with a small of the coffee and Belgian chocolate. A member of my party enjoyed her peppermint chip which had a refreshing flavor and chip ratio! The ice cream is very creamy and delicious!The family owned establishment makes the ice cream homemade daily! Only qualm is that their smallest option (4oz) $5.10.

Tasty, creamy, homemade ice cream. Not a large selection, but you must try their Prickly Pear Cactus ice cream. If you're fruity or strawberry fan, this will be right up your alley. It's not the same, as it has its own unique flavor. The flavor was very pleasant and tasty. I would've been better off getting 2 scoops rather mixing an odd flavor with it.

Updated Review - 5/27/23: We went to the Black Cow Cafe a couple of days ago. It was so amazing, we had to go back again before we left Sedona. We are glad we did!!! It was even better the second time. The line was a little longer because it was Saturday night…. But the wait was with it! I had the Black Cow and my wife got the Calfagato again. They were both delicious!!! We completely and totally recommend the Black Cow Cafe! Check it out!

Original Review - This place should be called “Heaven”. Because when we finished with what we got, it felt like we died and gone to heaven. Mmmm!!! DELICIOUS! The service was FAST and friendly! I got the Mocha Freeze…. And my wife got the Calfagato. WOW… they were both incredible! We are in Sedona all week and we will definitely be going back to the Black Cow Cafe! Highly recommended!!!

Very yummy pies! I absolutely loved the buttery flaky crust! You can taste the homemade love! Definitely give them a try!

I didn't enjoy what I ordered. It was a Today's special drink kind of like affogato. They have Prickly Pear Cactus Ice Cream!

Cute little coffee shop is Uptown, Sedona. They serve fresh pies, other pastries, milk shake and ice cream sundaes as well as espresso and drip coffee options. Very friendly staff.
