Cafe Smitten

I’m from out of town so this was my second experience here and it was amazing! Beautiful brunch food items and wonderful pour over coffees!

I got the mushroom omelette and my husband got the Moroccan eggs. Both beautifully cooked, delicious, and aesthetically pleasing as well.

Our daughters shared the toast flight. Didn’t leave a morsel on the plate so that’s saying a lot!

The counter culture coffee they used was well balanced and bright. Very delicious.

The space is amazing with lots of places to sit and study, work, or chat. I highly recommend this place if you’re in Bakersfield!

I got a mushroom omelette from this place and some dripped coffee. The slices of bread were delicious, also got some poppy seed bread and it was super good. I found this place to be a miraculous good place worth even driving to. The place was so full when we got there, but the line to order doesn’t seem too much after you order and find a spot to seat. They have a nice back and side patio, so there is plenty of seating space. I really enjoyed going to this place and eating their food. It was unexpectedly great. Everyone was very nice as well. Keep up the great job!

Went for the first time with a friend, we were attended right away & our server was super friendly! The burgers, fries, matcha were delicious. This is now my favorite cafe in Bakersfield. Most definitely gonna come back :)

I got the vegan burrito with egg and cheese, and a blueberry mimosa. One friend got the vegan burrito with an egg and my other friend just got the classic vegan burrito. They mixed up my friends burritos, the one who ordered with an egg the wrapper had egg written on it but had no egg in hers. My friend who just did the classic vegan ended up with the egg on his. The blueberry lemonade mimosa was just delightful. Nice atmosphere. Don’t think I could handle the disco music all day.

If you’re also in one of those couples where one of you is a sweet and the other savory - this is your spot. The food is simple but expertly prepared. The staff is friendly and takes pride in Smitten. Try the Moroccan eggs, sit outside in the shade and let the funk roll over you.

Walk-up counter service with top notch coffee, bites, meals, pies, merch, and service. Casual, creative dishes which are tasty as hell. So damn happy we came through. Had a pour-over and breakfast burrito (add sweet potatoes), my SO hot the Moroccan eggs - highly recommend either (both?).

i’m in town for work and have already been back two days in a row. might make it a daily trip.
some prices seem quite high ($5+ for a toast) but others are more reasonable ($12 for schnitzel sandwich).

This is the kinda place where a foodie nerd & a Rez dawg can bliss put together 💞

We had a slice of pumpkin pie with REAL HOMEMADE WHIPPED CREAM (yummmm) and a savory omelette with egg & mushrooms while swooning over everything else on the menu.

Thrilled to find this place on our inaugural visit to the S.O.B. (Streets of Bakersfield)!

Nice coffee ☕️ shop with friendly staff! This coffee shop has two outdoor seating areas and the service was quicker than I expected being that it was busy on Sunday. The Moms apple pie 🥧 was very tasty. I highly recommend this coffee shop you will love it ❤️
