A very Interesting eclectic coffee and tea stop. Semilla is the type of place where diversity meets humanity. A fabulous array of pastries and sandwiches are available for all customers.
The tea selection is my favorite, from roots to leaves and any other concoction one can make tea out of.
The best part about this spot is the convenience from downtown.
Just North of the Gfox building, tucked in on the West Side of Main St. Before Albany Ave. Don't miss it, Semilla Cafe!

My son and his father’s cousin is the co-owner of this beautiful cafe. Let me start off by saying, we’re from a part of PA that has little to no culture, so while we were visiting family for the holidays I wanted to experience as much as we could, including supporting Semilla Cafe, which celebrates black and brown cultures. The atmosphere was filled with amazing vibes, and great coffee. I highly recommend the coconut latte, the most smooth and delicious latte I’ve ever had the pleasure of trying, my son had the ovaltine hot chocolate, and drank every last sip. I also tried their newest drink, The Mookie, and it was to die for. The service, coffee, and vibes were immaculate, and I can’t wait to stop in on our next trip to CT. If you’re looking to support your local black owned businesses, and enjoy an affordable, delicious hand-crafted drink, this is your place to go! It’s in an amazing location, and you won’t be disappointed if you stop by. Let me not forget the ALL gender inclusive bathrooms… this place does not miss!!✨

This spot is a hidden gem. So many great records. It’s nice having a record shop in my neighborhood. This place has connected some many great people for the community. I’ve rented this space and created so many new experiences. Also the coconut latte goes hard.

I have to believe that the coffee I was served was a mistake. The attached photos appear to be tea, but it is most certainly water with a hint of coffee. I assume that someone used too few grounds or accidentally brewed spent grounds. If this is the standard then it is by far and away the weakest and worst coffee I have ever had. Cranberry muffin was ok, but $7 for a muffin and this coffee felt steep. Employees were friendly and the atmosphere was great.
Edit for owner response: thank you for the response. I ordered this to go and did not realize how weak the coffee was until I was back to the office. It’s ~mile walk and it just wasn’t worth coming back. Too bad this was my first experience here. The store has a great vibe.

Really pretty place with a really good atmosphere. Personally my group didn't love the drinks that much but we might've made the wrong decisions for our taste. Free feminine products in the bathrooms and cool art gallery.

Super cute cafe in the downtown area. Good to see the area thriving. Was a little disappointed with the service though. We waited more than 25 mins after someone took my wife’s tea for her to get another one. I understand it gets busy, but that was a little frustrating.

My mom and I like to check out locally owned coffee shops around central CT and Semilla easily holds a top spot. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, there’s even vinyl DJ! And of course, the most important aspect, GREAT coffee. Absolutely delicious! I highly recommend supporting this locally black-owned coffee shop.

Nice cafe to grab a quick bite and coffee. Loved the coffee and the banana bread and the blueberry tart. The ambience is good .

We were passing through town and looking for a latte after the babies kept us up all night long. We ordered 2 oat milk lattes and WOW. Seriously delicious. The best latte I have had and we've been making lattes at home for 5 years now! If we were local we would be stopping in every week.

really like the style of the place, especially the weaving art on one of the walls was really pretty. customer service was great, i ordered a coconut iced latte and cheese scone and they both were really good. that latte might be one of the best i've ever had; sweet and had deep nutty flavor and kind of tasted like halva. would come again just for the coffee!
