North Hi-Way Cafe

Went here for lunch with some co-workers. It’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it little place, although it does look smaller on the outside, it actually has a decent amount of room. Lots of great food choices there was a good number of people there during the middle of the day but it did not feel crowded. Food was exceptional and the service was great! I took a few photos of the place but did not get the main area because I didn’t want to disturb the people eating. I also love the high school reunion story they have there, thought it was pretty funny. Great place, awesome atmosphere!

10/10 I’ve been coming here for about 5 years now and I’ve never been disappointed! My favorite thing is the “ full Monty” super good and I usually can’t finish the whole thing.if you’re looking for a diner/cafe this has the classic diner feel to it and is just what you’d want. Always warm and welcoming and enjoyable. The only issues you might run into is that because it is very good and very popular, it can be a bit crowded late mornings but if you do have to wait it’s well worth it

The cafe you remember from your youth with grandpa. This place is straight out of history past and be thankful it is. Great people, great food, & great pie! Had the cafe special, North Highway Special Rare Beef Sandwich. Huge sandwich full of flavor and the au jus served with is to die for. Warm Blue Berry pie to end the meal was just what the doc prescribed(ice cream usually comes with it, I didn’t indulge though. Watching my figure, a guy has to have his limits you know…🤣). Side note, there is lots of great reads inside but you will have to come to know what they are!

I really wanted to like this place. My mom told me stories of when she was young and went here and had great food. I ordered the chicken fried steak and my wife got the chopped steak. Our waitress was so disinterested in serving us. She hardly came around and forgot a few parts of our meal. Probably some of the worst service I’ve ever had in Idaho Falls. The gravy on the chicken fried steak was cool to room temperature, not ideal. The fries were room temperature and crinkle cut. They are the kind that comes frozen then fried. The chopped steak was very dry and flavorless. VERY DRY. I am not the individual to leave behind food, but we left most of our meals. I’m sorry to say, but it was a poor experience. I do want to come back and give this place another chance. Maybe I’ll check all the review recommendations first before then. But I’ll have to sneak out to do that since my wife refuses to give this place a second chance.

This place is worth the hype! Great prices, people and food! Our server was super sweet despite being busy. The food was so big I had to take half home! Which tastes just as amazing for leftovers! We will definitely be coming back!

I had the Grilled Ham and Cheese sandwich and my husband had the Breakfast Burrito! Thanks guys! 10/10!

Inexpensive but filling and delicious breakfast/lunch/dinner spot. Quick service and clearly a favorite diner of many of our older locals -- they know what's up!

Awesome authentic diner. Food was amazing and affordable. The service was really good. I highly recommend the hi way hash browns. The pie was also really good. I loved the atmosphere and overall feel of the place

We had never eaten here before so decided to try it out. Our breakfast was some of the best we've ever had at a restaurant. Our waitress was wonderful. We were able to visit wirh her a bit. We will now be stopping here to eat each time we go to Idaho Falls.

The food is good, coffee is the best. The wait staff can be hit or miss that is the only reason I don't give 5 stars. A couple of the gals are the nicest you'll ever met and they keep your drinks full. A couple seem extremely miserable and cannot keep your drink filled. Always enjoy eating here though, as did generations in my family!

The food was incredible. They kept my coffee full with freshly breed coffee. Our server was patient and attentive. My only regret is that I didn't visit sooner!
