My dad and I decided to pop in to try the food here and we left happy and full!

He had all you can eat fried chicken, fried mushrooms, and mashed potatoes. We also ordered gravy for the potatoes, to our surprise it was sausage gravy. Not what we'd usually expect but still delicious. The only thing I'd critique on his meal was adding more salt to the breading on the chicken. The chicken itself was absolutely wonderful. Tender and juicy! Just needed a pinch of salt on the breading.

I have always wondered if there was a restaurant that made served customers whatever they wanted and I was delighted to see they offered The Matt on the menu. You tell the waitress if you like spicy or not and if there's any food you're allergic to/don't like. That's it. Then you wait for your surprise meal! I sipped on my snickers iced coffee while waiting on my non-spicy, i-like-everything-especially-mushrooms meal. Then out came a HUGE plate of homemade nacho chips covered with queso, chicken, peppers/onions, arugula, mushrooms, a sweet/tangy sauce, and dollops of loaded potato bites. I loved it. I'm not typically a nacho person, so next time I think I'll opt out of chips, but the toppings were fantastic.

We finished the large meal with a thick slice of chocolate cake. When I tell people I'm craving chocolate, their cake is what I'm going to envision from now on!! Moist cake, smooth and creamy icing. Perfect amount of sweetness. Not overly rich AT ALL. I was shocked. Double chocolate is easily overwhelming but they've unlocked the secret to a balanced sweet.

If you're a ceramic mug fan they also offer very cute mugs up front. $30 for inquiring minds. We'll definitely be back to try more things!

This is the kind of restaurant you expect in a huge city where the competition requires intense innovation. The food is incredible, the menu is fun, the atmosphere is delightful, and the owners/staff are perfect. Other restaurants should aspire to be this good.

This is a must on your restaurant adventure list! Great food! Great service! Great atmosphere! You won't be disappointed!! The French toast is fire! 🔥

Always enjoy this small town USA eatery. The owner is the best. The staff is always friendly. We had a new server who certainly took our teasing like a pro. Not far from the highway and well worth the few minute detour!

Friends and I decided to take an adventure! We’d never eaten at Mudcat. Our first meal was Sunday lunch. We decided that day that the Mudcat was “our kind of place”. A few days later we had brunch! It was a DELICIOUS‼️Again, great service! It was well worth driving a few miles for a very enjoyable eating experience ‼️

I love finding Gems like this place! The ladies here are all so nice and the food was amazing. We had to take home a shake for the kiddo and try their coffee. Everything was wonderful. Highly recommend stopping in if you are passing by.

Definitely a good place to stop. The food and atmosphere are very much complimentary and delicious. Pictured the The Boss Hog a delicious combination of pig meats all wrapped up in one package.

Below is a picture of the pie we had to get to go because the a/c was blowing so hard and directly on half of the restaurant, my wife and I had to move because it was so cold and uncomfortable. The food was just okay, nothing special. The coconut cream pie below was a $3.00 piece of pie, you be the judge. If you are thinking of going here, don’t!
It’s a shame that a small little town like Oak Ridge would be represented by this poor restaurant.

This place has some of the best food in the area. Not to mention the portions are sizeable. Great place to eat

This place is well worth the drive every time we visit and we live 60+ miles out. I had the buffalo chicken fries the first time and have trouble getting something different every time I’m here. They’re like none other. I had one of the burgers once and they’re fantastic as well. A terrific place with good service, people and atmosphere if you’re ever passing through!
