The place was busy, with only 1 server, but she greeted us and sat us, and got us some drinks. She explained she was the only one serving, but she was hustling!! We were patient, got our food ordered, and dug in. Food was great and glad we stopped there!

Family friendly atmosphere in a small town.
The staff was friendly, and they kept my coffee cup full.
This restaurant is very traditional. If you have dietary restrictions or looking for anything that is healthy or progressive this is not the place for you. (Not whole food plant based or gluten sensitive type choices menu)

It took me a year to review this restaurant. I stopped as I was driving through from West to Midwest, and was suggested of this beautiful place from the bike shop just a few blocks away. until I walked in. I was not served at the bar for coffee, water menu, or any ordering while many other patrons were served and checked out. I get it if you were a local place, and you want to serve the locals but after 15 minutes it was remarkably a joke to me. I started to giggle inside and continued to smile as three or four waitresses walked by me with no offering of anything and then, knowing for sure that I was not going to be served even sat for a few more minutes to giggle about the ridiculousness of this place and it’s service. This place is highly not recommended by me and will never encourage anybody to go there ever in my entire life.

Looked like a cute place, but the service was horrible. They ignored our table and were taking drink orders for a table that arrived after us. We ended up leaving and not waiting to be served/ignored.

Cozy, hometown local place for breakfast/lunch. Efficient, no nonsense service providing wholesome meals.

Food was good but the owners family kids sat behind us complaining. Her attention was focused on the complaing and not on the service. So the armosphere was less than desireable.
Great food the next visit

The food is always good, but the last two times I have been in there doing bible study and eat breakfast the waitress is very rude. I have spoke with some others that say the exact same thing about the particular waitress and they refuse to dine in because of it. It’s unfortunate.

Very busy! We waited about 30 min for food but it was very good ! I’d rather wait for good real food. Excellent service too.

Grandma Joe's is an old-fashioned and inviting kind of restaurant owned by local people. The owners are kind and buy locally to support the community. The food is all homemade and delicious. The menu is simple making each dish worthwhile. The staff is friendly and always helpful. Grandma Joe's has been around for twenty years for sure that I can remember. It was a favorite place to eat for me back in high school and now I still enjoy it with my husband and daughter when I'm in town.

I ride my motorcycles around and review diners. This was my farthest one yet at nearly 400 miles round trip (greetings from the Greater Denver area). I visited Grandma Jo's on 8 Oct 21. As I walk in, it's neat and clean. It's split into two areas and I sit in the corner of the bar side. The tables, chairs, and bar stools are clean and in a good state of repair. Now, on to the food!
I got the #3, country fried steak. The hashbrowns and over easy eggs were expertly prepared and I rather enjoyed them. The chicken fried steak was a little to be desired. The breading was not crispy (I'm used to it being crispy) and the gravy was bland. HOWEVER, a little salt and pepper made it better. This is all about preference; I'm sure many like this meal. The coffee was good with no complaints. The mug had Grandma Jo's face (I presume) on it. Prices were right where I like them, (under $10 for breakfast). Overall, I had a good experience. I would visit again.
