Gema's Cafe

An absolutely fantastic hole in the wall place. It's small on the inside (capacity for maybe 20 people max, plus a few picnic tables on the outside), but the menu is fantastic. You can order anything on the menu at any time, too, which is nice. I had the wet burrito with shredded beef, and it's one of the best burritos I've ever had anywhere. Everyone in my party also enjoyed all their food as well, and we ordered a variety of things, such as omelets and the croissant sandwich. This is 100% worth a stop.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner all at one stop. Great Mexican food at very reasonable prices. Smaller place that does close early, so call or swing by to make sure they aren't full.

Servers were nice and attentive. Green enchiladas were just spicy enough, fajitas were tasty with a nice char. Only complaint overall was everything was a bit salty.

Will definitely return, some of the best food in Beatty.

We went here for breakfast and really liked it, so decided to go again for dinner. Also, there wasn't any other decent food options for vegetarian people in the town.

We really liked the Spanish omlette and veggie sandwich. Veggie skillet was also good.

Our dinner order is in progress, so will update the result once we are done with it.

Got a few tacos. They were very good! Can't wait to go back!!

The lady working the truck is such a kind person! And a great chef!!

Stopped for breakfast and found a cozy, friendly alternative to the casino. Plentiful parking, good service and food. They didn’t have Huevos Rancheros on the menu, but made up a plate for me, which was very nice. The Huevos were simple, hot, tasty and filling…and I didn’t have to walk through the smoky casino to eat. Four stars for pretty good eats despite a challenging location.

Sad to say, but if you want a decent breakfast in Beatty you need to go to Denny's.

We wanted to try a local place but this disappointed on all levels. The server obviously did not want to be there and the food was middling at best. My omelette was small and the home fries were still raw.

The skillet breakfast was swimming in sauce and essentially flavorless. The only good thing was the egg enchiladas, which were unique.

So, overall, pretty disappointing.

3-12-22, Very busy place and the server worked constantly to serve all of the tables. Breakfast was fine, my bacon was a little undercooked compared to how i like it. About $23 for two of us.

Great breakfast, freshly cooked. So much better than chain restaurants!! Support the little guy and visit this Cafe. Happy to recommend.

What a Gem this place is in the middle of the stark and sun-blasted desert right near Death Valley! My husband and I are so glad we made the time to stop by on this trip through. Young Emmanuel was serviceful and made us a delicious 1/2-caff latte. I forgot to ask whether the lovely lady of the house was Gema, but the restaurant interior is charming and attractively decorated—a real treat. My husband and I shared the latte and an order of the breakfast eggs enchiladas. We ooohed and aaaahed over the delicious enchilada sauce. It was so good! We are big fans of roasted toasty crispy home fried potatoes, and these were not that. In the future we’ll remember to ask to have them done crispy. The restroom was clean and basic. It was a delightful quick stop and we were on the road again. Thanks, Gema’s Cafe! ❤️

I ordered breakfast and dinner here on more than one occasion. Friendly service from everyone I interacted with. Their enchiladas are good and their sauce has a nice kick to it. The breakfast burritos are a perfect hearty meal prior to an adventurous day of hiking Death Valley. I ordered them to go with dinner. They tasted great warmed up in the microwave.
