Local Lion

Finally was able to get by here for their Gluten Free Fridays!!! I was nervous because we got there about 1pm & I wasn't sure if they'd have anything left. But they did!! We got a mixed dozen & goodness gracious my belly was happy!!! I haven't had a donut in years & their GF donuts were fantastic!! I personally loved the cinnamon & sugar one the most. Can't wait to go back again!!

Stopped in upon the recommendation of a friend to try out their homemade donuts and Home roasted coffee. I'm a trained Barista and home espresso enthusiast of >17 yrs, really picky about espresso. This place was great, super cozy, slightly off the beaten path. The pricing was lower than I thought it should have been, so hat tip to them for being so modest. Their donuts can hang with the old standbys of inner city New York, definitely better than any chain. So if you want gourmet espresso base drinks and donuts in a super cozy hang out environment, make this place a destination.

Let me start by saying, best cappuccino EVER! Reasonably priced with a variety of options. Very relaxing with unique decor. Must visit if in the area for a nice cup of java.

The Local Liom's coffee and food were great. The atmosphere was really good and service was excellent. Of you are looking for some good coffee and pastries in Boone, this is a place I would definitly reccomend.

When you visit Boone please check this wonderful family owned cafe called “Local Lion” You will feel the happy of freshly roasted coffee as soon as you open the door.

Really nice staff every time. Delicious cappuccino. And the donuts! They make their own donuts. The orange glaze has real orange juice and zest! The gluten free donuts are the best and I don't normally eat gluten free. I look forward to visiting every time I'm in Boone.

This place is amazing! The service is wonderful and the food is even better. We’ve been there 3 times this week! My son’s girlfriend actually recommended the coffee, and it did NOT disappoint! The staff made excellent suggestions, so don’t be afraid to ask them if you’re unsure. My daughter and I will definitely be regulars!

Fast, friendly, delicious. The vanilla, lavender latte was like 90 foam but the flavor was on point. The donuts where a wonderful texture/ consistency I've never had before.

The customer service was amazing and the atmosphere was beyond belief. The amount of community that happens in this place is beautiful. As a chai lover, I do prefer a more flavorful,spice-filled chai, so that left something to be desired. However, it was amazing sitting here and just enjoying the atmosphere and staff. Absolutely amazing.

I love this place. It is usually my first stop when I come into Boone in the mornings. Great coffee and treats. I always grab a bag or two of their beans they roast in house home with me. They have a drive thru if you're on the go. Parking is tricky and usually full.
