The best coffee on the Peninsula. Hands down! Quality espresso, quality milks, and quality service. The drinks are perfect every time. No worrying about burnt espresso, watery milk, overly sweet etc. Just perfection every time. They make all of their own syrups and sauces so you can trust the source which I greatly appreciate. And to top it all off the owners and staff are people who honor their work like artists. You won't be disappointed!

I liked the ambiance and available seating, my coffee was good, not my favorite. The rest of my party was frustrated at the lack of available options. There were only almond and oat alternative choices for milk, which is not many comparatively speaking to every other coffee shop. The only available flavors were the specials and vanilla, which is fine if what you like is coffee, but for a lot of people what they like is their “drink.” I didn’t dislike my drink, I had the mint vanilla espresso special, but the others in my party did because it was vanilla flavored macchiato when they wanted caramel macchiatos and Essence does not carry those ingredients. I would go back and try something else, if you’ve never been here be aware it’s more like a big city coffee cafe than the other coffee shops in town.

If you enjoy a perfectly created espresso made with fresh roasted coffee and a warm smile. Then this is your place. The whole experience here is transcendent. My wife and I are both hooked on the the quality of the espresso. Even the milk comes from a local Washington dairy. A+

Stopped in here today to check out the quality of this coffee shop, WOW, like serious WOW. Perhaps the best and most flavorful coffee anywhere in the country including Bend/OR, Portland/OR, Seattle/WA, Manhattan/NY, Berkeley/CA and so on.
Scones were delish too, the service was impeccable, the coffees were stellar and the shop is dynamite, nice atmosphere.

This might be the best coffee anywhere in the state, even in the city of Seattle. The owner is an award-winning roaster, who studied the bean in Brazil! Their shop is impeccably clean, and the owners and baristas could not be nicer. Sequim is lucky to have this place. ☕️

Went three days in a row while visiting my friend who lives in Sequim since it’s her favorite coffee place. I can see why, since staff is friendly, coffee is delicious, and environment is clean and inviting. Had the seasonal cider too, which was amazing. Nice variety of sweet and savory pastries as well. Inside decor is minimalist, but center fireplace panel and nature themed wall art give it a cozy feel, which I enjoyed. Bathroom clean and well-kept and family friendly with changing table for kids. Combination of table seating and couch seating, good for going alone to read or study as well as going with a small group for socializing. Too bad I live in TX or I’d go all the time just like my friend does.

The only espresso I will buy!
My wife and I have been regulars here for months and we love everything from the house roasted coffee, the healthy farm fresh milk, the handmade flavors, the customer service and the wonderful owners. This is the place to go for health concious choices. All the food and espresso ingredients are locally sourced, house made, or at least top quality. Great product, great service, great owners. Worth supporting this business and keeping them around!
hmm huh
Love this place because of the owner, a very kind man. Used to only get our coffee from here, but wish they would get a toaster oven (I'll get it for you, even!) to warm up pastries. If they could provide warmed pastries that would bring me back as a regular. Also can expect less than smiley employees, but they aren't rude just not friendly. That is still better than most customer service these days, so I'll deal!

Some of the smoothest espresso I've ever had! And each latte is made with love.
Skip Starbucks and hit these guys up if you're in town.

A wonderful addition to our local coffee choices--this is the artisan cup of coffee, not the mass-produced one. I personally love the standardized coffee menu--simple and guaranteed to be crafted right. All I had to do was say, "cappuccino." Plus, they roast coffee beans right there in view.
