Mellany's Bakery

My wife and I split a bowl of chili for eight bucks and was an excellent way to end our snowshoeing trip. They have an awesome collection of hot sauces and good baked goods. I look forward to trying out more. The prices seemed quite reasonable to me.

Absolutely LOVE these small little hidden jems...🤔I almost hate to review it in fear of it being...not too small.😆 When you first step in you are a little surprised how cozy the seating area is in comparison to how large the building looks from the outside. Once seated you get that cozy right-at-home feeling surrounded by eclectic country decor and locally made handicrafts and art for purchase. We arrived just about 15 minutes before they shut down for an hour and a half for changeover between 1:30 to 3pm and they didn't bat an eye or seemed put out over it.

We were pretty hungry and decided to try a couple of things. We both ordered sandwiches. I had the sausage lasagna soup and macaroni salad. My partner got chili with all the fixings and a taco. The portions were very generous and we definitely did not leave hungry! Her soups are to die for and you can actually differentiate the taste of the sandwhich fixings! We also left with a pan of cinnamon rolls with oh so creamy icing on the side (no pic because she kept it in the fridge for me until we were ready to leave) and some day olds. Let me tell you, they didn't make it to day 2. 😬😅 There's a fun assortment of different bottled/canned refreshments in the cooler to choose from sure to satisfy any flavor craving.

It's warming up now, she also boasts a huge covered deck with comfortable outdoor seating! Wifi is available as well although I didn't have time to test it because we ended up in delightful conversation with Mellany and her husband the whole time! Super awesome souls y'all! They are VERY accepting of all walks of folk so don't be shy, swing by!

This place is amazing! A hidden gem for gluten free eating, for sure. I've never been disappointed with the food, the atmosphere, or the friendliness of the owner and employees. This experience represents small town diners flashback from an earlier era - their pride in their business shows and is greatly appreciated!

We each had a taco salad. Large portions and very fresh. I wish I had saved room for some of the delightful home baked from scratch pastries! Cute place, it felt like my grandma's home. Service was friendly and informative.

Usk has a gem! Good, simple, delicious lunches. Super nice service and an adorable dining room. I wish I had room for a treat after lunch, yummy selection of pastries.

My wife and I love Mellany's bakery. We've brought family and friends here when they were in town visiting us. Today we had split pea soup with thick cut bacon and croutons the soup was hearty and delicious. My wife had a BLT that she keeps coming back for. It's one of her favorite sandwiches or lunch items in 2 counties. I had a Philly Burger it had grilled onions and roasted peppers and a nice horseradish Mayo sauce with a side of Aju dipping juice. It was absolutely delicious. There's Eric's meatloaf sandwich on the board as a special that I'll have to go back up and try next. We also have delightful conversation with owner, Mellany and coworker Eric. Talked about life and food. To top off the afternoon, they brought out a couple pieces of bacon for our dogs. We love Mellany's Bakery.

Couldn't wait to leave this review. Eric and Mellany are wonderful hosts and Mellany has a gift for cooking and baking. The burgers were fantastic! We also bought 3 pastries after lunch and they didn't make it home, they were too good not to eat in the car! See you guys next time.

Great burger, potato salad and tacos, very nice people and a VAST hot sauce selection! I'll stop any time I am in the area. Edit: Another stop and had an awesome clam chowder bread bowl! So good. Thank you.

So very Yummy !! Will recommend to EVERYONE !!! Must be Patient as it is a new business that also does catering as well with few employees as of yet sometimes they are closed when they should be open.

The bakery is lovely.... the laundromat is horrible there is no garbage can, they don't sell detergent or fabric softener they have a door that says restroom that is bolted shut, and if you have issues at the laundromat to go to the bakery for help that is why the bakery gets the review the laundromat won't even pull up on Google
