Hidden gem of Denver. Passionate, friendly staff and a dining atmosphere that is buzzing with an intimate experience for foodies. Love the decor and love the food. The patio is HEAVENLY - complimentary blankets on each chair for snuggling up with a coffee while you people watch. Love this place!
I’m not sure what the hype is. To me this place serves tasty food but at the end of the day it’s very plain and basic food. There’s nothing special that really takes it above any other casual cafe lunch place. A couple of salads and chicken sandwich. I didn’t particularly find their menu exciting or innovative. I think I was disappointed because everyone spoke so highly about how amazingly delicious it was. But I’ve had similar sandwiches and salads. At the end of the day it’s just a basic food place with nothing that special. I wouldn’t go out of the way or call it a ‘must see’ must eat place. I think people need to stop being sheep and call it what it is.
Wildly overpriced small plates. Decent artisanal cocktails but at this point that's almost every trendy joint in Denver. Place is cute but don't expect table service. I feel like I'm dragging the place. But when you get an $70+ bill for a couple drinks and a few small plates (that were downright tiny) it kind of puts a bad taste in one's mouth. I honestly don't know how this place managed to make that national Bon Appetit list. We went twice over the course of two weeks and I just felt like it was overpriced olives paired with hipster cocktails. I'll give them credit for atmosphere. It's a super cute space with an inviting patio. Otherwise I can't say I was a fan.
I find it incredible that a sandwich can actually garner 5 stars. But Call is THE PLACE where you will find at least one. Unfortunately I did not take a picture of the best sandwich I have ever had. It is a pork and fried egg (fried to perfection) sandwich with arugula on a sesame brioche bun. All made in house. In another lifetime, the 1980's. I worked in a 5 star restaurant. That sandwich far surpassed anything I ever served at lunch time!
Came with friends for happy hour and had a great time. Never been anywhere like Call. Happy hour specials were a good deal and the service was outstanding. Everything we tasted was delicious. I recommend the campari spritzer and any of their cookies. I look forward to returning.
Best chicken salad sandwich. Menu is simple but creative, and extremely well-executed. Wonderful service in a bit of a small space, but they make do! Head out to the patio for prime seating.
I've always had a lovely experience here for lunch! Tasty, thoughtful dishes and really kind staff. It's become my go-to for a quick bite - their takeaway sandwiches are awesome!
Let's start with their cozy atmosphere. I just can't believe how comfortable I was upon entering the restaurant. They have a small menu and our group ordered different dishes. Surprisingly, all came out smelling so delicious and savory! We will be back!
The bread is good! Have even bought a loaf on occasion to take home to eat! The salmon tartine is tasty. The aebleskiver is great. The chocolate chip cookies are ridiculously good! When a place can nail a basic chocolate chip cookie, and I want to just drop by to get a cookie, that is a statement!
Not your typical dining experience, but that’s what makes it so unique. You walk in to a beautiful spread of appetizers, an amazing open kitchen, and a friendly staff to greet you. Slowly made my way through every dish that was delivered to me since I didn’t want any one to come to an end.
Denver has a true gem tucked away on Larimer. Just go—you won’t regret it.
