Cafe Milo

There are about a dozen WiFi networks called "Cafe Milo Guest" or some similar name, making it nearly impossible to get connected to the right one. On the off chance you get connected to the correct network, the connection is usually spotty at best. The drinks are always good, but I went out on a limb today and ordered a scotcharoo that was, by the taste of it, several days old. I would suggest ordering to-go, and studying somewhere else.

CONS: When the wifi is 'functional', 95% of the time all that can be accessed are google sites (gmail, google news, google search [useless as you can not see any sites when clicking a link], google docs, Youtube), Yahoo, and a few other domains. Frustrating when wanting to surf the web.

PROS: Coffee and Lattes are fairly priced, and done right. Atmosphere is very conducive to studying with music volume kept low and music genre basically pop or alternative pop. Opens early (7am) here in Ames whereas Lockwood Cafe nearby does not open until 8am and plays loud rock music. Free parking. Tables and chairs plus a sofa and a couple of stuffed chairs next to a fake fireplace.

Cafe Milo has great food, yummy coffee, and a great atmosphere to sit and chill. The staff are super nice and helpful with drink recommendations!

Love the staff, the atmosphere and the coffee. Wifi speed is usually about 30mbps and the environment is perfect for working.

Seriously my favorite cafe i’ve ever been to! the girl on the phone was incredibly helpful and made my experience even better, the receipt says her name is jasmina i really hope that’s right. give that girl a raise!! the breakfast bagel is so good herb cream cheese is even better, and the snickerdoodle mocha changed my life. anyways, i highly recommend this place! it’s gonna be my new favorite place for sure

Coffee was okay. Employee said they didn't have a cinnamon honey latte, but it was the first latte on the menu (Miel). They don't have whole milk there. Super strange for a coffee shop to not have whole milk.

Great service, peaceful environment, yummy breakfast, and amazing coffee selection. Definitely recommend!

A great place to relax and have a good drink. They have a high quality chai latte that I usually get when I come here.
The staff is friendly, the environment is cozy, and having a lot of windows gives the place a lot of natural lighting which is big for me.

Went here with a couple friends while things were beginning to open up with covid, but the staff made sure we had an adequate table and they conscious of other customers there.

They have a lot of outlets so they're totally happy to serve you if you need a quiet place to study or read for a couple hours!

Wonderfully decorated cafe with lots of seating. The free wifi and seating options are a big plus!

The cafe had many coffee options and the staff were patient and super attentive to us. Our coffees came with some really unique stickers on them. I was a little disappointed with my pumpkin pancake latte, because I could not taste any pumpkin.

My chai latte also tasted more like dirty chai, which is great, but I would have preferred more sweet chai flavor

That aside, Cafe Milo is a cool cafe and it is definitely worth a visit!
