Be aware that it is in the library. I'm sure it is great. Hours were not updated on Google, so it'll have to wait.

Best place to get a coffee and have a conversation. They host a lot of music event that great for anyone to sit and listen to. They serve the best hot chocolate in Silver Spring. Really great staff and good selection of records.

Just wow. Went there early on a Sunday and the barista hadn’t shown up yet but there was one guy there who made me an excellent latte, he even tossed out an espresso shot that hadn’t extracted perfectly and remade it. 10/10 would recommend in a heartbeat

Excellent coffee excellent customer service. Just a little more costly than Starbucks but it's worth it. Especially when they have good events live music. Well kept secret

A true gem off the beaten path in downtown Silver Spring. If you’re a fan of indie dance music, this may be your new favorite midday haunt. I used to frequent this coffee shop every weekend. First I’d get a coffee and either study or get some work done, then I’d unwind and have a beer because yes, they also have beer on tap. And hilariously, if you ask a friend ‘meet me at the Bump N Grind,’ 9 of of 10 times that person will assume it’s a gay bar.
The feature I enjoy the most is the couch next to two vinyl turntables in the back of the shop. If you hand over your driver’s license to one of the baristas, they will let you borrow some noise canceling headphones with a long cord that is compatible with the jack on the turntables. They have a selection of at least several hundred albums to pick from, 95% of which are dance music by local artists in MD/DC/VA. They are loosely categorized into genres such as house, bass music, drum n bass, downtempo, dubstep, etc. Picking an album is a bit like playing Russian roulette. The fact that most are instrumental lends very well to studying or working on projects. This has afforded me hours of joy and entertainment. Not to mention the place has great decor — murals, posters about the history of music genres, lots of vinyl on display, etc.
It pains me to not rate the BnG five stars, but I have a few couple complaints. First, it isn’t open late enough. I get that it’s a coffee shop, but if you’re going to have turntables and beer, I think you should at least be open until 9 or 10 pm. Second, each time you purchase a drink you get a ticket to access the WiFi for 2 hours only. Third, occasionally one of the turntables is in disrepair, and because they are popular sometimes you have to wait awhile to get on one. The employees come across as rather aloof at times, inattentive, or distracted. DC isn’t the place to expect warm greetings or smiles, but it would sure be nice surprise.
In summation, I love the concept of the BnG so thoroughly and it has kept me coming back weekend after weekend. Some minor improvements could definitely lead it to hit those five stars.

I was excited to find this place, as there are not enough quality coffee shops around. I don’t like walking into a shop and getting a clueless look from a worker when I have asked a question that would be obvious to anyone who truly is skilled at their craft.
i.e. “where do you get your beans from?” or “how are your beans roasted?” should not elicit a blank stare.
The barista here was no novice, and seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. That was a pleasant surprise, because the two don’t always go hand in hand. I would go back just to chat with them again. 😊
I ordered a decaf latte and a cold brew for hubs. I was happy to learn that whole milk is standard, unless otherwise requested, as it should be. Thank you!! The latte was okay, not spectacular, (I should note that drinking a beautiful coffee drink from a paper cup does make me cringe, ahh!! one more thing Covid has ruined!! But possibly this contributed to my disappointment more than the drink itself)
The cold brew was a bit disappointing - I like my cold brew like I wish my hair would look; strong, smooth and silky! It was not as smooth as it should have been and tasted watered down.
I definitely want to try again as I am hoping maybe it was just a bad batch of cold brew. The mere fact alone that they also have cronuts as one of their baked offerings is enough to entice me back. I am hoping for greater things on my second visit.
All said and done, it is still a wayyy better option than any of the chain coffee shops that charge you exorbitant prices and subsequently hand you a cup of what tastes like ashtray droppings.
I would definitely recommend you give this coffee shop a visit and am really looking forward to my next visit.

I really did not enjoy my iced lattes, which tasted a lot like Starbucks. I also did not enjoy stale my cookies. The ice cream options looked great but I did not try them. The place was quite clean.
