Kaldi's on Demun is everything a corner coffee shop should be, and it starts with excellent coffee and friendly service. With a wide variety of coffee and tea, baristas are helpful in making a selection. Great drinks are complimented by a great atmosphere; a cozy cafe space and a good sized patio create an place were customers can work, converse or study. I enjoy going in the evenings during the week because its a little quieter. Weekends are very busy. Parking can be difficult as well around the Demun neighborhood. As a tip, park in the neighborhood just north of Kaldi's.

One of my favorite spots in the city. This is the original Kaldi's location in beautiful Demun, and perhaps due to the longevity of the place, it has a unique, laid-back atmosphere that seems different (and better) than other Kaldi's I've been to. The staff are really friendly, and the coffee is great. There's also a full menu of vegetarian-friendly dishes for lunch and breakfast.

Of course Kaldi's, the original one, is the best. So funky, such a great location, great hours, excellent espresso drinks. What's not to love? Their chairs could be more comfy.

Visiting from Chicago, Kaldi's came recommended, so we started our day here. A fine location with amiable environment; coffee (Wahana pour-over) & food (breakfast burrito) were both spot-on. Service was flawless.

For the uninitiated, Kaldi's is THE local coffee shop of St. Louis. This is their flagship location and has been open for over 20 years. The baristas here are serious about what they do (but not too serious) and have a great interest in high quality coffee. All coffee is sourced directly from growers, roasted only three miles away, and is never sold more than 10 days from roast date. Coffee never reaches your cup more than 90 minutes after it is brewed. That's no joke!
Coffee beans can be pricey here, but you can be sure you are most certainly getting the best coffee one can buy in the Midwest (outside of Chicago, perhaps). For a slice of Seattle in St. Louis, this is your spot.

Great place to grab your favorite Kaldi's coffee. I had the sidecar, which is always fantastic. Also serving breakfast and lunch items for a quick bite. You can also find whole bean coffee for purchase.

While it’s nice to visit the flagship Kaldi’s coffee I grew up with, I miss too many things about the way it was run before it was bought out and turned into a major corporation. The food was tastier, the menu was larger, no Pepsi-Cola products were available, and I knew every barista no matter the time of day. Now it’s got a fairly bougie atmosphere due to the attitude of the staff (none of whom are over thirty or unconventionally attractive), tiny, bland menu (which has been shaved down to the absolute bare bones), and chandeliers (which will always feel distinctly out of place inside a business which once prided itself on being a cozy, unpretentious spot to catch up with your Demun neighbors). #bringbackthekaldisof94

Coffee and pastries are top notch: try the mocha muffin. Inside seating can be cramped and lots of hard surfaces can lead to a high noise level. Best on a nice day to sit outside overlooking the neighboring seminary grounds.
