Crane Cafe

Wife and I are repeat, out of town customers from Tome. This is a small truck stop, two minutes north of Socorro. We are not Truckers, just visitors. Staff is friendly and it's apparent, because of the banter, a good bit of the customer base are locals/regulars. The Crane Cafe is found after you walk through the gift shop of the Truck Stop.
This is not fast food. You're gonna wait a little bit, but the fresh brewed ice tea is an indicator of what the waitress will be bringing in a few minutes.
Wife had a chicken taco salad and I had a green chile bacon cheeseburger. Lemitar chile folks! Yum!
There is a surprisingly full menu to pretty much feed you whatever you want. Sherry also likes the club sandwich and make sure you give the home made potato chips a try.
Tip your watress and make sure you catch the cooks eye and give him a thumbs up.

Service was horrid, salsa was watered down , taco meat was only hamburger meat no seasoning what so ever. Very bland. Flies everywhere . Waitress didn't listen to my order which was 2 beef tacos with cheese only . Ended up with cheese , beef, tomatoes (which looked rotten) and lettuce that Had a brown tint to it.

Servers are awesome! Really nice and make sure you have everything you need. Pleasant atmosphere. Great big servings, come hungry and leave full and satisfied.

Very friendly, attentive servers. This is a local place for locals, travelers welcome. Nice vibe. Huge portions, loved the crispy hash browns! Would definitely recommend.

Horrible.... hamburger steak? More like a plain hamburger meat no seasoning... The cook got upset when we place our order he thought he was going home 2 hours early. $19.00 wasted over priced.. no lettuces,no tomatoes,no onion hamburger meat, thick fries, carrots on the side and regular toast bread 8.49

Good food, friendly waitresses -- and menu items for Seniors at a great price! Berry cobbler with ice cream is the perfect way to top off a meal.

Had the special, a smothered burrito, with ground beef, and red chile sauce, served with rice, and beans.

The red sauce is delicious. However, unexplainably there was none coating the ground beef inside the burrito.

I've never understood, or appreciated the New Mexico tradition of ground versus shredded beef, and I believe this meal would be several levels higher with shredded beef.

That aside, the burrito was delicious, with a generous amount of beef, and plenty of sauce, and cheese smothering the burrito.

The rice was meh, the beans were okay. The pile of shredded lettuce, and diced tomatoes, would probably be a welcome addition for most, I was not interested.

This truck stop is easy to get in and out of, with plenty of parking, so if you're here, try the food.

Being from Albuquerque New Mexico originally this place had some of the best Mexican food I've ever had it's inside the Roadrunner truck stop just outside of Socorro New Mexico and the prices were very reasonable and they had great showers I would highly recommend it

Excellent food and friendly staff

I'm a truck driver. I go out of my way to eat here. I love everything they serve. I've recommended it to many friends who are amazed at the great food.
