You know the feeling when you go to the Brooklyn penthouse apartment of a rich friend for a party, and you find that all their friends are quirky and artistic and you can't relate to anything they say but you are fascinated watching and listening to them, and he's serving scones for dinner and the list of flavors is somehow longer than the list of ingredients, and all the craft beers are named after pre-Renaissance poets, and the place is filled with vintage books and antique coca-cola signs and Shirley Temple's childhood retainer is under glass on the bathroom wall, and you feel like you shouldn't touch anything, but then your friend comes out and uses a first-edition Brothers Grimm as a coaster for his craft cider or whatever, and your like oh yeah I have absolutely no idea how things work here, this clearly isn't the real world and I love it.

You know, that feeling?
This establishment reminds me of that.

This is a quaint and beautiful book store and cafe in Kingston. It is located in a little area with beautiful historical stone structures. The store has comfortable seating area and amazing coffee and beer and food. Great book selection.

The selection of books here is great, the food is tasty, and the coffee is wonderful. The espresso is strong and smooth, and the cold brew is delicious too. Quite the chill place to visit…glad to be in a bookstore again!

Rough Draft is in Kingston's historical district. There is a lot of history within the surrounding streets. Nothing beats being able to browse for books and drink local brews! Super nice staff, amazing collection/selection of books, and a really good variety of beers on tap! Highly suggested stop if you are up from the city for the weekend, or even if you are local, so we can continue to support our independent bookstores!

Without a doubt, this is one of the best coffee shops in the world. Between the bookshop, bar, cafe and decor, it has everything you could want in an establishment. The coffees of the month are always inventive, witty and damn good, and the vibe is always welcoming and communal. I’ve been to hundreds of coffee shops all over the world and this ranks highly.

This place is spacious yet cozy, and I will definitely be back. The brews are all from NY, which I love. If you like Guiness, try the Wild East Standard Deviation. You will not be disappointed. The books are plentiful, and there were so many on nature and the Northeast! Many people ordered food, so I will be back to try. Outdoor seating is on the corner of the oldest intersection in the country! You mist stop in if mosying around Kingston.

This spot is a highlight for my friends every time they visit Kingston. Great coffee, local beers, and I guess you can also buy books. Oh don’t forget to buy one of their amazing cookies. They were so good.

Dog friendly, great brews, awesome books! The vibe here is amazing. They encourage you to read the books while enjoying a coffee or drink. Definitely will be back when we’re in the area

I want to live here! My spouse and I always stop when we're going down to Long Island to visit family and on our way back home to Utica, NY. Great atmosphere, books, coffee, beers. You can't go wrong. Dog-friendly.

Super cool/ vibey place. Reasonably priced everything, great aesthetic, good book selection, & they have great drinks and snacks. They even have vegan options! There were vegan donuts and a vegan hand pie when I went. Seems to be a very popular place to work from, though the wifi was a bit slow at times.
