I've eaten at Golden Leaf many times and have always really liked their food. The pesto sandwich and soups are delicious. And they definitely have a focus on clean eating and Organic food, which I love.
I give it three stars because in spite of their food, this cafe lacks friendly and inviting customer service. The people behind the counter, including the owner, are typically quite cold and unfriendly. They seem more task-oriented and less concerned with building relationships with their customers. Even when you are a frequent patron, they don't seem to notice or care. This doesn't help to build a community of loyal customers.
They are also very stingy with the food they serve. I don't have an enormous appetite most days, but I always leave the Golden Leaf feeling hungry after my meals. I'm happy to pay more for sustainably grown food, but the serving sizes are way too small here. It seems that the protocol for making food involves a strict adherence to stinginess. On several occasions, I've seen the staff literally counting the number of corn chips they put on my plate. And when friends have brought in reusable mugs for coffee, the staff has poured coffee into one of the cafe's cups, then poured it into the reusable mug, to make sure my friend wasn't getting even an ounce more than she paid for. I realize they have to be profitable, but being conservative over fairly inexpensive things like corn chips and coffee is not a great message to customers.
Again, great food. But I'd recommend going elsewhere if you want friendly customer service and serving sizes that make you feel satisfied.

Fantastic little coffee shop I will admit the wait is a little bit long but I would wait for quality that you receive there great basil pesto egg sandwich and a fantastic cherry almond turnover would recommend this place to anybody and it's pretty much my favorite shop in Menomonie

Great local cafe. Great gluten free selection, healthy options, and some vegan options. Serves some of the best iced coffee I've had, and the owner is such a kind person, which definitely rubs off on the rest of the staff. Great place for grabbing coffee with a friend!

Golden Leaf Cafe is my go-to cafe for a delicious and satisfying breakfast of quiche and coffee. There are a wide varieties of coffees and mochas. There are also fruit and veggie smoothies that are dairy-free and unsweetened (delicious and so-o good for you!)
Elena's mushroom and spinach quiche is to die for!!
Every employee I have met is very courteous and friendly. I love this place.

Good mostly home made food and drinks. They make their whipped cream homemade and man is it good. We ordered two drinks the Black Forest and the Cherry Blossom drinks along with some carrot cake and NY cheesecake. The attendant was very friendly and respectful. The drinks and food were very delicious. They also have a gift shop full of soap (imported from France), organic lotions/shampoos, and candles. They do have some candy too like chocolate covered almonds and whatnot. Definitely will come back again.

Sweet little cafe. A nice place to sit in a sunny window on a cold day & get some work done. I tried the veggie quiche and black bean soup. Quite good! As was the coffee. This place gets high marks from me just for being a vegetarian-friendly eco-conscious business. Aside from the Raw Deal and Acoustic Cafe, it's really the only place in town that has options folks like me! I'll certainly be back soon.

The cold press coffee is amazing. So smooth - never bitter. Made the Ecuadorian grandmother's way, with a special bean, custom roasted, patiently dripped. Try it first with hot water, in glass, then decide whether you'd also like it over ice or with milk. Good all ways.

Looove this place. The chai is pretty weak though so don't order that one, but the rest is super delicious and rich! I usually get oat milk with my coffees. Very sweet staff and the owner is hilarious 😆

I usually wait in the drive thru for 5-10 minutes before I decide I can get Dunkin or Caribou much sooner. Meanwhile there is always a car pulled up to the window that sits there for the 5-10 mins without being served.

Delicious craft coffees and yummy healthy food on the menu. It's a scratch kitchen so expect to wait a bit but definitely worth it! The owner is wonderful and the staff is friendly!
