Really great coffee; it’s no surprise there’s a line out the door. If you’re a cappuccino lover, their foam is to die for. Really liked the self-ordering kiosk and there was a discount for using it!

Of course good coffee, great outdoor seating and to top it off, nice bathroom which is rare nowadays and complete BS that some places close theirs. Staff also knows what they are doing!

A group of senior ladies needing to use the restroom. Asked the cashier if they had a restroom we could use and was told "No" we had to buy something.
Actually I was going to buy coffee until I got that response.
Thank you for treating out of town seniors horrible. We were actually treated like queens at the " Cleaners" around the corner.

Traveling all over LA we were hanging out for a decent coffee. So after reading the reviews on this place thought it was worth checking it out... small place with quite a good vibe and you could get the feel that lots of locals come here to work on their laptops. Coffee was extremely good as we only drink espresso shots to get the true taste of the coffee. So one of the best places we enjoyed a great coffee whilst in LA.

Cool coffee shop. I had the hot chocolate and it was good. My friends said the coffee is was good, they have different aromas and flavors from different regions.

I just wish I would have had a better coffee experience. It didn't have much flavor and was $6.00 so definitely sad about that.

I love trying local Cafes on our vacations & Santa Barbara Roasting Company was just perfect!
Beautiful setting with outdoor seating & plenty of indoor seating available to beat the heat. I ordered PSL & it was so delicious! Light, foamy & so yum! Loved their flavored orange whipped cream and their iconic red coffee mugs are just gorgeous to elevate your experience. My husband got a double latte which was good too. We also ordered jalapeño bagels, cinnamon rolls, & scones. They were equally delicious! Drinks are $3-$6 & bakery items are $2-$6 too.

😒 Coffee. Paradise Blend (lightest) Drip + bag. I'd recommend this shop to traditional coffee drinkers. I even bought a bag for a friend. However, "Roasting Company" is subjected to the realm of Specialty Coffee criticism. My review is to keep a reference of coffee shops I may want to return to. For "Turn n' Burn" coffee, 2 stars is very generous. (A 1 star would reflect a Charbucks or similar coffee shop). Traditional Dark coffee drinkers would enjoy the place.

Perhaps a good study spot or meeting place, as long as you don’t mind bad coffee. (2/5 green stars also)
I was excited to see they had Kona coffee pour-overs, so I ordered a small one, a spinach feta croissant and a strawberry Danish ($9 total). The croissant was okay, but it was small and lacked filling. The Danish was quite good in the same way that a pastry from Costco can be quite good. The coffee was not good – it was actually awful to the point where it might as well have been Folgers instant coffee. They roast the beans on site but the end result was sadly a waste of Kona beans. They were roasting as I sat there and the aroma was of burnt beans, confirming that roasting is where it all begins to go wrong. I found three places in SB with good coffee: Green Star Coffee (in the Public market), Handlebar, and the Helena Avenue Bakery (who brews Dart coffee). The “RoCo” space is nice enough, if you’re not as fussy as me about your coffee.
I’m giving SB Roasting Co. 2/5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons:
• They don’t have anything to say about sourcing of the majority of their beans (other than their “Naturally Grown” beans) and as a result it comes across that they are making commodity market purchases.
• A few of their coffee beans come under their “Naturally Grown” label, which they say signifies that the coffee is organic, shade-grown and fair trade. It’s strange that they don’t use the official Organic or Fair Trade logos. I want to believe but the provided information is sketchy. The Green Star rating could be 2 stars or 4, depending on the authenticity of this label and also where they source their other beans (the majority of their coffee).
• The server couldn’t tell me where the pastries were sourced & it’s not stated online.
• I asked for the coffee in a ceramic cup, but they gave it to me in a double paper cup.
• Cups, lids, and cold-cups are not compostable.
• Packaging for beans is Mylar.

I really enjoyed my night cap at this spot. Got a decaf peppermint latte for sipping but also left with 12 oz of Montecito Blend. It sounds and smells delicious. This place sells a bunch of different roasts from single origin to blends. There is ample seating and was a great spot to read for an hour or so. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Santa Barbara.
