Star Country Cafe

Had breakfast today at the Star Country Cafe. This is an old fashioned place, nothing fancy here. The food was good except the home fries were dry and not much taste but, the chicken fried steak and gravy was really good. I had a vegetable omelet. It was made from liquid eggs which isn't my favorite but, most restaurants don't use fresh eggs anymore to save money. The vegetables were really good and my hash browns were good too. The serve started off poorly but, got better after abit. We will come back again.

The service was excellent. The skillet breakfast and blueberry pancake were very good. If you are driving through Star in the morning definitely stop in for breakfast. You will not be disappointed.

Always a nice spot to have breakfast! We tried to beat the "rush" but its kind of difficult when its the best spot to be on a Sunday morning! French toast and eggs and pancakes,delicious meal. Has the country home feel of a small town! Always bring a smile and an appetite!

I live in Nampa and was just recently traveling by when I saw this cafe and thought I'd stop in.
It is absolutely hands down one of the best "mom and pop" locally owned cafes! 👏 The food was fantastic and the service was phenomenal. Not to mention the coffee was excellent! (I'm usually not a big coffee fan, but WOW!). I will be returning!

1st timers, passing through on our way to McCall for the Winter Ice Carvings. People were nice, food was good, service came quickly, place was very busy. Really love supporting local Mom&Pop businesses.

I wish this place gave me a reason to give it a five star because I’m a local but it’s just SO inconsistent.
The food is good old home country breakfast cooking but but service is extremely hit or miss.

Something that should NOT be ordered here is the Eggs Benedict. This morning the hollandaise tasted like melted margarine. The other three people in my party tasted it and were disgusted, as was I.

Biscuits and gravy is the one tried and true items here so give those a try.

We arrived right before their closing time, but they welcomed us in. We received our lunch so fast and it was great!! Everyone is so friendly. Will definitely return. Great breakfast and lunch restaurant.

Was recommended this place from someone at another restaurant. Extremely disappointed. Food, service and atmosphere were all very bland. Coffee was good at least.

Awesome! Shop local Don't be fooled by building, food is high quality and delicious. Order to take out/pick up or dine in.
