One of the best brunches I've had in the Boone/Blowing Rock area. Authentically Southern without overdoing it, artfully crafted dishes, beautiful outdoor patio seating. The inside doesn't have much charm, but porch and patio are great. Get the Biscuit Baby for an appetizer to share at brunch! Highly recommend the quiche and the pulled pork scramble dish.

My food was delicious.i ordered fried chicken...greens....mac N cheese and biscuits. Best food ever.The waitstaff is very friendly and quick. My Mom who is an awesome Southern cook... told me their cornbread was some of the BEST she ever had. We will .....be....back!!

Brunch is amazing, but their weekly menu isn't too shabby either. Staff are always helpful and kind. Another great spot in Boone :).
P.S. If you do go to Sunday Brunch, get there early and finish off your meal with a biscuit baby (Even if you have to take it to-go).

We went for lunch today. The food was delicious but the staff was lack luster. We were seated quickly as they were not busy. The hostest told us our server will be with us shortly. Twenty minutes later he comes to our table and tells us the specials. When I tell him no I'll stick with my original plan he said "oh so you need more time?" And then he turned to leave and we had to catch him to say no we were ready. We ordered beers. They had a great selection but brought wine glasses for us to pour the beer into. We will give it one more try as we live in the area but didn't care for the service this time and if it's not improved we will write it off.

Southern comfort food in a quaint setting. Portions aren't overwhelming and everything is well worth the price.

We had the fantastic chicken and waffles but plan to go back for the tomato pie.

Proper has some great, tasty, fresh food. Their mashed potatoes are at the right consistency. Their homemade ketchup tastes great as well as their hush puppies. Cozy inside and love the touch of mason jars as cups

Always great food and friendly service! I love sitting in the enclosed patio. They even heat it in winter.

Proper is prolly one of my favorite places in Boone. To be honest, I probably spend way too much time here (I eat here like 4-5 times a week!) All the food is perfection and the plates look amazing! Truly the place to make a home away from home.

Great southern food, but service has been lacking lately - the experience has been slow the past few times and this last time the waitstaff was moderately rude. Finding a parking space near the restaurant can be difficult as well.

Great service, food, and ambiance. Wide variety of drinks to complement the dishes. Deconstructed interior with a Lake Tahoe/Southern vibe. Would definitely revisit this venue on my next trip.
