This has been our favorite places for a while now. Now most of the staff has never been overly friendly, with a couple of exceptions (the nice girl with the colored hair and one other barista), but we still love the atmosphere and the food and drinks. We come and spend a fair amount of money on both food and drinks at least 1-2 times a week. Today we came in and bought three breakfast items and four drinks. Our kid ordered a late and it wasn’t good, it really tasted off. Everything else was great but not his drink. I told my son to go and advocate for himself and ask politely to have it remade. The girl behind the counter said “not unless he wanted to pay for another one.” Even though We had just spent over $40 and gave a $7 tip. Not only was she a bit cold and rude, but I felt like this was really poor customer service. As adults we asked her again about the drink and she was just cold and impolite, and she was unwilling to try to make the situation right in any way and instead walked away into another room to avoid us. She clearly doesn’t have good customer service skills and maybe needs some training.
I have had things remade at coffee shops and restaurants before and I have never had the establishment make us pay for another one if the one we ordered was not good or made wrong. I’m not sure if it’s the policy of this place or just the gal behind the counter but
I’m not completely sure we will come back. I’m pretty disappointed with them today.
Update: the owner emailed me, called me, and we had a really good conversation. I was highly impressed with the owners desire to have a quality product and to give his customers a quality experience. We really do love this place and we will definitely be coming back and referring friends and family in the future.

I hesitate while writing this only for the sake of not inducing even more people visiting but know well this place is deserving. Kaffe Merc is my local go to coffee shop, offering an incredibly beautiful and unique experience each and every visit. Fresh roasted whole bean for my own at home brews and wonderful drip, specialty and extra special drinks for every occasion. My favorite extra special is the Banana Cream Pie Chiller. This past Sunday, Ethan killed it and delivered and exceptionally well crafted beverage. Thank you to all the serve our community at Kaffe Mercantile!

Great coffee, good food, Kaffe Mercantile is a frequent morning stop for me.

Kaffe Mercantile is my favorite local coffee shop in Ogden. Every time I am in Ogden visiting my parents, I make it a priority to stop in for a coffee and a pastry. The pastries are amazing and are made by one of the owners mothers. I also love that the coffee house is dog friendly and LGBTQ+ friendly. I recently tried the cold brew with sweet coconut cream. HEAVENLY!

My partner and I were regulars here for a while. I am a student and we would come here frequently so I could work on my school work and get stuff done. The staff has never been friendly. They never learned our names or orders like a lot of other places do and were always kind of judgmental, but we figured they were stressed from being busy and never held it against them. The coffee was good enough to excuse the attitude I guess. A few weeks ago we stopped by to study and the coffee was suddenly awful. My partner politely requested a remake of his and was met with a lot of attitude and zero effort, so we decided to shrug it off and not go back. Today we decided to give them another chance because we really did like them for a while. We showed up, ordered, and immediately the barista was pretentious and cold. I had my dog with me, I work in the animal industry and this dog DEFINES canine good citizen. I have brought her with me almost EVERY TIME I have come to this place and she has never caused problems, and the staff had always known and liked her. But today we got our drinks and sat down and I was told that they never had allowed dogs to stay inside the building. There was nothing posted anywhere saying this, and she had been with me during study sessions many many times before. The only thing I can think of is that I keep her muzzled for safety and training purposes and maybe they didn’t want a muzzled dog in their facility. Either way, complete BS and will not be returning.

I love the coffee here. I also love the homey atmosphere. Years ago, there was a small convenience store here. I’m thrilled that the building has been repurposed. The staff are always pleasant. Thank you.

Love this place! And they have the most sugar free options in town, which is great for my keto diet. Try an iced Americano with heavy cream and the sugar free flavoring of your choice!

Great atmosphere. Coffee won’t change your life but does the trick.
