Absolutly loved the coffee here. Its easy to find and a great place to come to work on your computer. A nice open dining area and loads of cooffee choices to choose from. Great prices to. The place was on par if not better than starbucks. Definetly stop in.

I spent a morning here while my husband was working around the corner.. I found it to be a very comfortable place, very well decorated, and I loved the atmosphere.
So I ordered a berry muffin and an iced chai latte.
The large iced chai latte made w/ almond milk that I got was an absolute failure! I don’t think I’ve ever had any that tasted worse.. I tried so hard to keep drinking it, just cuz I hated wasting my $5+ dollars.. but I ended up throwing it in the trash canister on the street outside after drinking about half an inch from the top.
I give you 3 stars for the nice building & the berry muffin. But for the sake of your usual customers, please step up your game on the specialty drinks.

Not worth the wait. Ordered a scrambled egg with sausage, green peppers, and home fries. It took over 30 mins for my order. Not pleased with the service at all. Have been to several location but Salem on Sunday mornings has gotten slower and slower.

I came here around 3:45-4:00 pm on 2/6 and I just want to shout out the two girls who were working. I wish I got their names but they were so helpful towards me after I had hurt myself right before coming in. Amazing service and coffee!!

This is an awesome place to go have coffee, very friendly staff and the people are just really chilled out and nice, I love E. Main st. I lived above tarpleys appliance store for 5 years, and I used to frequent Mill Mountain and also I love that across the street is Brooks-byrd pharmacy, where you can get the best orange aids in town! And did I fail to mention, the farmers market and the library all in one block! :-)

I've heard of mill mountain coffee before, and was in Salem, so I decided to try it. I don't know which Mill Mountain came first, but I hope the 'flagship' is better than this location.

Who it's for: Someone in town, who just wants some caffeine, and a place to sit

Who it's not for: anyone looking for a great cup of coffee

The good: The building is cute, and they had a probat roaster in the back corner by the bar. The atmosphere was sparse, but quite, and seemed like it would be a good place to work or study.

The not-so-good: thin, watery espresso. Dirty looking bulk bins, with no roast date visible.

I asked the barista how they pull their shots standard, as some shops pull doubles (doppio) while others pull singles. Within this, some shops pull ristretto, while others pull standard or lungo. She said they can pull either, so I ordered a double shot of espresso. I was surprised when the barista asked if I wanted it 'long or short'. I asked if short meant ristretto, as that's what I prefer, and ordered that. I expected a great shot, and was disappointed when I received a shot with a thin, watery, white, barely-there crema, and a watery, under extracted, weak taste. As a barista, I was disappointed, and I think more attention to detail, and a little more effort in pulling shots would go a long way.

If you're looking for a great cup of coffee, I'd look elsewhere.

At 5pm on a weekday which I expect should be a peak time, they only had one employee working. Took 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee and there was only one customer other than me at counter. Milk frother had a towel on it that was stuck to the metal. When he pulled it off the frother nozzle was all white and funky. Didnt bother cleaning it before putting it in my cup. Milk he used was sitting out the entire time I waited. No idea how long it had been out. The guy in front of me didn't get anything but several bags of ground coffee so the milk had been out at least the customer before him as well. Not a clean place. I just paid and poured it out when I left. Gross! Health department should pay them a visit.

Ambiance here is nice but service is lacking in knowledge. The barista that was to make my beverage did not know what they were doing. I ordered a simple drink, an americano (espresso and hot water). The barista pulled a shot and after the shot finished, simply turned the machine BACK ON with the used coffee puck still in the portafilter. This resulted in a watery under extraction taste in the cup, it was undrinkable and I had to throw it away.

Lovely Southern Life

I prefer MM coffee over Starbucks because it is roasted in-house, and you can't beat the taste. I usually order a large caramel latte. The t-shirts they sell are soft and luxe and make a great gift.
