We drove 61 miles to try the voted best bakery with the best swedish donuts in MN. (7/19/21) It was so NOT worth the trip! First off you notice the dingy, grimy dirtiness of the place. The selection was pitiful & obviously made cheaply. (Anything frosted didn't even have a gram of frosting, for example.) The guy behind the counter was very rude, curt & unkempt. We perched on a icky bench outside to taste our purchases. The "best" donuts were very dry, tasteless & clearly old. To give the bakery a fair chance, we had also purchased the almond chocolate chunk cookies. They were VERY stale, rock hard & the one tiny bit of chocolate in the whole cookie tasted artificial. I have had much better bakery items at gas stations! We do not understand how this place was even put on the list of consideration, let alone winning the best bakery in MN. We will never return to this business & would warn others against doing so. Not even worthy of half a star but had to put at least 1 star on in order to post!

It's a Bakery. Great Swedish Donuts, cinnamon toast is to die for.

Do yourself a favor and get an apple snail in the morning, and a cup of coffee. Actually, get one for dessert after dinner also - they kept well all day in my car in the same bag underneath the cookies I got for my kids (also delicious!), and still tasted amazing. We'll be back for sure!

Easy parking on street or the small lot on the east side. Cash or check only!

Don't understand any of the good reviews. The one time I stopped in it was dark and dingy, the man at the counter super rude and cranky. Cash only but I guess they expected me to know that already?? Nothing special. Ever since I go to Rush City Bakery. I have never been disappointed. Fantastic Bakery. They should've won Mn Best Bakery.

Read many reviews before visiting and the unfriendly staff was accurate, which is super unfortunate because these are the BEST DONUTS I’ve ever had!! Once you get past the rude staff it’s worth the stop!! Super affordable too!

Cash or Check only and worth every penny you spend! I brought my mom here after a mini road trip to the area. She was so excited to see some of her favorites. We ate some of our goodies on our way home for lunch!

the people that worked there must of wrote the good reviews.
When I was there I bought a cookie took it outside took one bit and it fill on the ground brought it back in and the older lady looked at me grumpy and would not exchange it for a new one. They also would not take credit cards. Take your money to a better bakery. One store is to much but they wouldn't let me post this

Every time we come to Cumberland and Rice Lake, we have to stop on the way and get some baked treats. The donut holes are so good and they're huge! The biscotti is great with my morning coffee, too.

I recently read about this bakery and being Swedish, I decided to give it a try. Small, unassuming store with filled donuts, cookies and breads; not Scandinavian. Went to pay and it's cash only...no notice anywhere in the building or on the door. Thankfully, a kind gentleman and his family paid for my donuts which was so nice given that it is only -8 degrees today. Bakery store gets 2 stars but nice man and his family, 5 stars, and I will pay it forward.
