Great coffee ☕ and awesome pastries..!! Relaxing place..!!

Very hipster. Reminds me of a Deep Ellum coffee shop. Coffee is good plus the lounge area is super chill. They also encourage you to take, read, and share books. I'm a fan.

Best place overall to hangout in Alex. I've been coming here since early 2012 and remember when it was just a small room often crowded on Friday nights. Fun place and the atmosphere rivals that of several coffee shops I've been to. I normally get a HC or 20 below Grinder. Baristas are friendly and fun to talk to. My only complaint is that some of the frequent customers are obnoxiously loud and rude, so nothing against T&G, but it certainly does not have the atmosphere it used to have when it was just a small room. Other than that, T&G is the reason downtown Alex is blossoming with new businesses, festivals, and bringing more people downtown.😁👍

Great coffee at a local business. Highly recommend this little coffee house to anyone in downtown. Unique atmosphere where you can do work on free WiFi. Service is stellar. You won’t be disappointed.

Love the iced caramel macchiato. All of the baristas are really cute and nice! It's overall very welcoming! Baked goods are good as well as the drinks.

Free Wifi Inside with many outlets near your seating, allows you to bring your laptop and surf the web; or perhaps if your in college and need to do your homework in a small quiet booth near the wall.

Tamp and grind is a great place tongrab coffee or tea if you are in downtown Alexandria. The atmosphere is pleasant and fun at times. There is ample places to sit and relax, indoors and outdoors. Hip and spunky, they are closely tied with all things going on locally. Staff is friendly and enthusiastic.

This is Brandon. I was at t&g earlier sitting down reading notes when a worker named abigail confronted me and said to leave if i didnt buy anything. I then asked why she only asked me out of everyone there, and she said it was because i was “dropping nukes” in the bathroom. She said this loudly and infront of everyone. Her actions were not professional and i will never ever be going back to tamp and grind. Abigail was very rude and very disrespectful. I hope this does not happen to anyone else. She embarrassed me infront of everyone and then rudely told me get out. I have been going to T&G for years but will absolutely never go back ever.

The best iced mocha you’ll find on Earth, and a very interesting atmosphere to boot. LOTS of art, lots of space, and lots of hospitality. Come walk and explore the newly-reemerging downtown Alexandria business district, and definitely make this a stop while you’re here.
